PROJECT: DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION + PROGRAM STRATEGY

NYC Jewelry Week’s Co-Founders, JB Jones and Bella Neyman, approached Elliot Carlyle in 2019 to build an initiative with the platform aimed at providing visibility and support for underserved and underrepresented designers & makers in the jewelry industry.

After months of research, development, and roundtables with industry designers & leaders, the HERE WE ARE program was created.

HERE WE ARE is a strategic initiative designed to address widespread inequity and a lack of representation in the jewelry industry through action and impact. Launched in 2019, and founded in collaboration with NYC Jewelry Week’s Director of Cultural Diversity and Inclusion, Elliot Carlyle, the HERE WE ARE program highlights creators, and builds industry awareness around issues of diversity, inclusion, equity, representation, and allyship.

  • JB Jones, Co-Founder NYC Jewelry Week

I feel so honored to have Elliot head up our diversity and inclusion platform within NYC Jewelry Week because his vision speaks beyond that platform and speaks directly to the humanity within all of us. His voice resonates loud within the arena of diversity, because he calls us back to reflection of self and culture; and the need for programs and institutions to simply immolate what is around them in the world and build from there. It is an organic, beautiful message - powerful in its simplicity.

  • JENNIFER GANDIA, CO-OWNER GREENWHICH STREET JEWELERS

Building HERE WE ARE with you has been one of the most beautiful and rewarding experiences I’ve had.
